Meet Gateway Recovery Staff Member Nolan Mulligan

Published by stephaniefriend

Nolan Mulligan, Lead Continuing Care Coordinator joined Gateway Recovery Center after working in Residential Treatment for 5+ years bringing his experience, passion and education to provide specific placement, guidance and support for each guest following a stay at Gateway Recovery Center.

Working directly with aftercare providers across the country, Nolan and the Continuing Care team provide education, options, guidance and direct access to ongoing care. This is coordinated directly with the Clinical and Medical Staff at Gateway Recovery Center and is specific to each guest.

Nolan currently works with more than 90 aftercare providers, offering direct access and removing delays that historically risk a return to use or setback from the care received at detox.

“It’s cliché,” Nolan says, “but if you love what you do, you never work a day in your life. I have always loved working in the industry and helping people, and at Gateway Recovery Center, I share the same goal with my coworkers; to provide excellent client care and show what a life in recovery really can be.”

To date, 87% of guests at Gateway Recovery Center follow Continuing Care recommendations. This is in large part due to the work of the Continuing Care team and in coordination with all departments at Gateway Recovery Center. It’s a number that reflects the philosophy and mission statement of Gateway Recovery Center and its employees.

Outside of work, Nolan enjoys living in the heart of the Twin Cities where new experiences can take place. This includes trying new restaurants, riding his motorcycle, taking his 5-year-old Beagle for a walk and representing California as a transplant now calling Minnesota home.

“I want people to know what options exist and that care can be specific, exciting and changes can be made. I want people to know what life can be without drugs and alcohol, that goals can be achieved. My goal is to remove any barriers preventing this from becoming reality and in a way that provides easy access, low or zero cost through coverage and to ensure support is ongoing.” says Nolan.

In 10 years, Nolan sees himself continuing in the industry and working in a Marketing, Business Development, or Referent Relations Director/Manager role, impacting the high-level and daily operations of a treatment center or treatment center group to set unprecedented numbers related to experience and successful outcomes.
